PREPARATION:
Bunny:
Print out body pattern of bunny. Place 2 sheets of white felt for body one on top of the other and place pattern piece on top. Using straight pins, pin pattern to sheets of felt (pins must go through both sheets and all pieces must lay fairly flat once pinned) Cut along pattern edge to form body pieces. In addition cut out the following pieces:
black - two 1/2" circles for pupils
white - four 1" circles for cheeks and eyes, one 3/4 x 1/2" rectangle for teeth (also cut a small slit for teeth gap).
pink - one 1/2" oval for nose, two 1-3/4" x 5/8" ovals for insides of ears; two 3/4" circles and six 5/16" circles for paws
Run a bead of tacky or hot glue along edge of one entire bunny body piece except bottom edge. Place second bunny body piece on top and press gently to adhere. Glue all other pieces onto bunny's body and let dry.
Chick:
Print out pattern of chick, includes body, beak and feet. Place 2 sheets of yellow felt for body one on top of the other and place pattern piece on top. Using straight pins, pin pattern to sheets of felt (pins must go through both sheets and all pieces must lay fairly flat once pinned) Cut along pattern edge to form body pieces. Follow the same procedure for the feet and beak on one layer of orange felt. In addition cut out the following pieces:
black - two 1/2" circles for pupils
white - two 1" circles for eyes
Run a bead of tacky or hot glue along edge of one entire chick body piece except bottom edge. Place second chick body piece on top and press gently to adhere. Glue all other pieces onto chick's body and let dry.
These puppets are made to fit children's hands, not adults. To make an adult size print patterns out at 150-175%. You will also need to cut the bunny's ears out separately because with the adult size the body and ears won't all fit on the same felt sheet. Glue ears between body pieces when assembling.
